Students, nurses and members of the public are invited to join a real time perioperative nursing recruitment roundtable discussion on the web on Thursday, November 15 at 6 p.m. Simply go to www.JeffersonNursing.org/webcast

Presented by Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, and Methodist Hospital) and moderated by television host, journalist, and author Joan Lunden, the internet broadcast will offer a look at the exciting perioperative nursing opportunities available at Jefferson.

Viewers will hear firsthand from Jefferson nurses, physicians and administrators what it is like to work in this specialized nursing field, especially at a major tertiary care facility.  Jane C. Rothrock, RN, DNSc, CNOR, FAAN, professor and director of Perioperative Programs at Delaware Valley Community College in Media, Pa., will also offer insight into the future of the discipline.

“The recruitment webcast is designed to provide national and regional exposure to Philadelphia as an exciting, vibrant city in which to live, and Jefferson as a state-of-the-art O.R. environment in which to practice,” said Mary Ann McGinley, PhD, RN, senior vice president of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals.  “The goal is to showcase our three unique, technologically advanced facilities in order to attract a diverse, highly skilled workforce.”

Questions may be asked of the panelists throughout the 60-minute broadcast.
Replays will be available at www.JeffersonNursing.org/webcast, beginning
November 16.  For more information, please call 1-800-JEF-NURSE.
