Founded in 1825 as a teaching division of Thomas Jefferson University, the Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals has 932 licensed acute care beds and a wide range of clinical specialties. Because Jefferson is an academic medical center, we offer an excellent clinical setting to our patients that also forms an exemplary foundation for the practical and theoretical learning experience of Jefferson students.

The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and licensed by the Department of Health of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
