Jefferson Orientation

At Jefferson, all new nurses undergo a thorough, week-long centralized
orientation program that will provide an introduction to the Hospital’s
philosophy of nursing, policies and procedures and support systems. Some of
the topics covered during orientation include:

  • Documentation
  • Performance Improvement
  • Risk Management
  • Health & Safety Issues for Patients & Nurses
  • Infection Control
  • Clinical Skills Review

After the centralized orientation, a decentralized program will take place
on the unit, with an experienced nurse acting as a preceptor.

Methodist Orientation

At Methodist, all new nurses undergo a thorough orientation program that will provide an introduction to the Hospital's philosophy of nursing, policies and procedures and support systems. Some of the topics covered during orientation include:

  • Health & Safety Issues for Patients & Nurses

  • Use of Computer Systems and Order Entry
  • I.V. Protocol
  • Medication Admnistration
