Student Nurse Orientation Curriculum

Instructions:

Read the entire Student Nurse Orientation Module (SNOM)

Prior to reading the Documentation section in the SNOM:

1. Print the Admission History form, referenced on page 16.
2. Review the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care form, referenced on pages 17 & 18.

Watch the Accu-Chek InformOne Movie* (approximately 17 minutes in length). Be prepared to discuss the content of the orientation materials with your instructors on the first day!

Complete the testing for this module and read and acknowledge the Information Systems Confidentiality Statement.

Print the Certificate of Completion and bring it to the computer training class.

Students will not be able to go to the clinical units unless this certificate is displayed to their instructor.

Computer Training
Jefferson's clinical information system, JeffChart, allows nurses to review patient information and physicians' orders, document clinical assessments and interventions and chart medication administration on a computer. This training manual, when used in conjunction with the video demonstrations available on the accompanying CD-ROM, will help prepare student nurses to use JeffChart while completing their clinical here at Jefferson. At the beginning of a rotation at Jefferson, student nurses will attend a LastWord review session. Completing exercises, based on what is learned during this training, is required.
